My name is John Sanderson. I was not paid or asked to write this note. I decided to because in the sea of adverts and recruiters looking for drivers its hard to choose a good one. Lodwick management and the staff have treated so well that I really wanted to help with attracting new drivers through my unsolicited comments.
I was with Lodwick Transport for a short, but very enjoyable 6 month period. As a newer driver, I worked for a couple of the "other guys" where they treat you like a number. It was my good fortune to finally come to Lodwick Transport. I can tell you that if you work with the staff here they will go out of there way to treat you better than most companies (trucking or otherwise). You are not a number at Lodwick Transport. Its more like a family that cares about you and your family at home.
Good equipment; professional office and dispatch staff, and management with a truly open door policy. The miles (pay) is reasonable and if you are flexible with them, they will get you through home often. It is more than obvious to me that the dispatch staff truly puts effort in giving the runs you like as long as you are willing to do one you don't now and again. And, when you need a change they will try to mix it up for you keep it interesting. Nobody in the office seems to forget about the drivers at 5 o'clock. All the staff have cells and you can get help if you need it at any time.
Knowing that I'm about to turn in my keys is not something that sits well with me. I really feel a sense of loss. But, a family issue has presented itself and I must leave for a while to take care of it. Be honest; open and flexible with these folks and you will find them to be the same with you. The reality is, you can hunt around for an extra cent or two a mile and quite possibly at a the kind of companies that will treat you like a robot with a AZ licence. Or you can work for this company - Lodwick Transport and feel like you are part of a team.
